A unique piece of flameworked borosilicate glass art by Beau Barrett. 9” tall.
These designs are alchemical, both as symbolic representations and personal transformations. That’s the magic of the Art. Ideas, emotions, critical thought about life and the world coalesce into tangible forms with inextricable archetypal meanings. Fire, the material world and it’s machinery, the mystery that seems to transcend it, or simply precede it. The light, the Sun, the clockwork of the universe that can be counted on.
Elemental gold? Only a symbol of the true Gold that we are able to transmute in every waking moment. Within, between ourselves, between all that we experience and touch. This is just us doing the Great work here in the world that we must live.
The fire within? If we have any sort of duty here, I would venture to guess that it’s to keep that fire lit, and held high where others might see it when they are lost, seeking ground... Fire is dangerous, but it can keep you warm in the darkness, light the way, it can ward off predators and fears, it can forge useful tools, smelt gold from ore, and form glass into the entire mythology that you can hold in one hand.
